There is a lot of news for Team Dayā supporters as we head into the holiday season, including a matching challenge that lasts through Giving Tuesday – tomorrow, November 28th, 2023.
Our goal in 2023 was to break ground on three new schools and we are pleased to report we have been successful due to the support from each of you.
School #5: Nicaragua Groundbreaking Complete
With sponsorship for our Nicaragua project from the Jeff T. Green Family Foundation, Team Dayā completed the groundbreaking of its fifth school (and third in 2023) during the week of the American Thanksgiving holiday. Team Dayā members Kristy Quagliariello, Hasan Arik and Jordan Mitchell traveled to Arenales #2, Nicaragua.
The small agricultural community of 381 residents growing beans, coffee and corn, is in the north about 90 minutes drive from the Honduran border (and over six hours from Managua, the nation’s capital city). The new school building will have two functioning classrooms as well as boys and girls latrines and will house 45 kindergarten to 6th grade students. An additional 10 students are expected to enroll once the new school is completed.
Matching Challenge – Time Sensitive
Any donation to Team Dayā (to our general fund or any Team Dayā member) today through the end of Giving Tuesday – tomorrow, Tuesday, November 28th – will be matched up to $250 by U of Digital (up to $5,000) with a donation to our general fund for our ’24 school building projects.
Please consider supporting Team Dayā. We cannot build these schools without your support. Example investment opportunities:

Team Dayā 2024 Plans
In 2024, we plan to build schools in Nepal (March), Senegal (June 2024) and Guatemala (December 2024). These ground breakings will be our second school in each of these countries.
The exact start dates are:
- Sunday, March 17, 2024 – Nepal (arrive Kathmandu)
- Sunday, June 23, 2024 – Senegal (arrive Dakar)
- Sunday, December 1, 2024 – Guatemala (arrive Guatemala City)
