Why: I believe, and was taught, that education should be a fundamental human right. That belief isn’t shared, nor realized in far too many countries and communities all over the world. My parents immigrated to Canada from India, where education isn’t a given. They stressed the importance of education and its role in personal development, one’s livelihood and ultimately, in one’s happiness. This was a gift given to me by my parents and I want to pass that gift and along.
I watched with pride as my family supported a school in India, and my time has come to do the same for a beautiful and deserving community. I am joining Team Dayā to help build a school in Nepal to offer its children a chance to learn, thrive, and help pave a path for a brighter, more fulfilling future. ‘When you learn, teach.
