Paul Wyrembak – New York, New York
Bio: Paul is the Head of Technical Operations at TRUSTX. He previously worked at PadSquad, and was Co-Founder of Dantech Systems.
Why: As a son of immigrant parents, I realized early on that hard work and determination are only minor components in the criteria that determine one’s “success.” Sometimes, it requires a display of kindness, empathy, or gratitude. Other times, it requires being in the right place at the right time. What my parents knew when they moved to the United States of America, however, is that the foundation to achieving success lies in the privilege of an education – this is something that I’ve certainly taken for granted. In learning about my parents’ journey, I’ve become aware of an unfortunate reality – while many parents would gladly sacrifice everything to give their children access to better education and the chance of a more prosperous life, most parents are never presented with an opportunity to do so.
I’m so grateful to join Team Dayā on their school build in Senegal, and to participate in something that has the potential to impact an entire community for years to come. I cannot wait to meet the children who will attend the school that we will build, and to learn about their aspirations. I’m equally excited to connect with the parents and provide them with comfort of knowing that their children will have new opportunities ahead of them.
