Why: Education is a powerful catalyst for positive change. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. I hope to join Team Dayā and extend these opportunities to underserved communities.

Throughout my upbringing, I have had the privilege to witness and recognize the transformative power of education. Not only did I attend a traditional K-12 school district, I also spent time at Chinese school, learning my mother’s tongue and culture. Because of all this schooling, while it was miserable at the time, I became a well rounded individual and was able to develop skills I would not have without the privilege of structured education.

Education is a gateway to empowerment, and it holds the potential to break the cycle of poverty that often plagues remote areas. Through education, children can dream bigger, aspire to more, and ultimately contribute to the prosperity of their communities. They can become future leaders, innovators, and agents of positive change. Building a school in Nepal is not just about constructing physical infrastructure; it’s about fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.

I envision a school, much like my own, that not only imparts knowledge but also instills values of compassion, teamwork, and resilience. It will be a place where children can not only excel academically but also develop into responsible, empathetic, and culturally aware individuals. For me, education created countless opportunities and one such opportunity is presenting itself on this school build to Nepal. I hope to share the bountiful rewards education provided me with those less financially fortunate.
